Lamb (Dýrið)
by Valdimar Jóhannsson, 2021, 106 minutes.
Iceland, Sweden, Poland – drama
In the Icelandic countryside, María and Ingvar, a childless couple, discover a mysterious newborn child with the head of a lamb. The unexpected prospect of family life will bring them new joy before definitively destroying them. Elements of Icelandic folklore work as a metaphor to recount the loss, pain and selfishness of man’s relationship with nature.
