Woods and demons from New England, Iceland and Spain: three films that walk the line between the real and the supernatural and portray the clash between different worlds.
Three films with the festival-goers of Montelago in mind, from sundown (21.30) to late at night, with each film repeated on loop, accompanying the spectators into the dark.
This short film festival is born out of a collaboration between CROC – the cinema organised by C.A.S.A. that takes place in the summer (and not only) in Ussita – and AIS, the cooperative that runs the PostModernissimo cinema in Perugia. Two like-minded projects that seek to help local communities grow through the cinema and cultural activities.

CROC - Una specie di cinema is an open-air summer film festival held in Ussita (MC) in the Monti Sibillini National Park.
It is organised by C.A.S.A. (Cosa Accade Se Abitiamo), the ‘mountain port’ created after the earthquakes of 2016-17. Since 2018, CROC has restored the big screen to a small town, showing award-winning films and documentaries from around the world – stories of communities and high altitudes, unique and fantastic stories from the edge – against a backdrop of guests, events and beers in the cool shadow of Monte Bove.

Anonima Impresa sociale is a community enterprise that has been active in Umbria since 2014. It promotes and organises cultural events with the scope of urban regeneration, such as the reopening of PostModernissimo: the oldest cinema in Perugia’s historical centre, PostModernissimo reopened after being closed for 15 years and was given back to the community thanks to a participatory process that led to the first community cinema in Italy. That process continued with the Metropolis cinema in Umbertide and the Astra cinema in San Giustino joining the cooperative in 2015 and 2023 respectively.

Anonima Impresa sociale è una impresa di comunità attiva in Umbria dal 2014 dove promuove ed organizza eventi culturali finalizzati alla rigenerazione urbana, come attesta la riapertura del PostModernissimo: primo cinema del centro storico di Perugia, recuperato dopo 15 anni di chiusura e restituito alla cittadinanza grazie ad un processo partecipativo che ha visto la nascita del primo cinema di comunità d’Italia. Processo continuato nel 2015 con l’entrata in cooperativa del cinema Metropolis di Umbertide e del cinema Astra di San Giustino nel 2023.
