In Extremo, founded in Berlin in 1995, offer a revolutionary blend of folk and heavy metal that has taken the German music scene by storm.
Known for their medieval themes, lyrics and instruments, colourful stage names and carefully crafted costumes, their songs are both original and traditional compositions, the latter often performed in medieval languages such as Latin or Nordic languages such as archaic German dialects. Since their recording debut with “In Extremo/Gold” in 1997, their Middle Age Metal, complete with choruses to sing along to, has taken them, album after album, to the top of national charts, transforming hundreds of performances at the most famous festivals, including legendary ones such as Wacken Open Air, into cult events.
Extreme in everything. From their name to their sound to their unshakeable career, the band released their latest studio album in 2024: characterised by their medieval rock sound, now an indelible trademark, it features the single “Feine Seele”, produced in collaboration with Oliver “Satyr” Pade of the legendary band Faun.
