The Celtic wedding is a ritual that sanctions the union between two people with a test period of one year and one day, after which they will either confirm or dissolve the bond. It's a union special by the presence of the elements of water, air, earth and fire and from Mother Earth, witnesses to the couple's bond.
This special moment is commemorated in the festival’s Historic Encampment by priestess Alessandra McAvjar in an evocative atmosphere that envelops the couple and starts them along their enchanting journey. Each wedding rite will be celebrated with a toast of spiced wine (ippocrasso) produced in the encampment.
This year, 23 couples will tie the Celtic knot in ceremonies scheduled during the following time slots:
Thursday 1st August 18:15-20:00 (4 ceremonies)
Friday 2nd August 10:00-11:30 (3 ceremonies)
14:00-18:45 (7 ceremonies)
Saturday 3rd August 10:00-12:00 (4 ceremonies)
14:00-17:15 (5 ceremonies)
